Envirohome

Our brief was to take one of the townhouses at Kennet Island and turn it into an interactive ‘science museum’, demonstrating St James Group’s pioneering approach to environmental building.
The ‘Envirohome’ brand was created and the design and visitor experience evolved around two levels of messaging.
Firstly, to demonstrate practical examples of key sustainability features in a real-life environment – photovoltaic cells, solar hot water, dual-flush toilet, powerpipes, grey-water recycling etc.
And, secondly to inform the local community of the importance of reducing carbon emissions whilst reinforcing the wider concerns of climate change. Packed with energy-saving devices and clever displays that visually illustrated the savings, its successful launch included cover on ITV Meridian News and in The Telegraph.

“I would like to express my thanks to you all for the great efforts that were made in getting the Envirohome ready for our executives' event held here on Wednesday. All the feedback received has been extremely positive. Keep up the great work! Gerry - St James Group

“There is now no doubt that climate change is happening and that there will be serious implications across the globe and for us locally. There is a limit to what the council can achieve on its own. So I am delighted that both Voyage Design and St James have joined our growing band of partners committed to a more sustainable future.” Steve Waite Lead Councillor for Environment and Consumer Services - RBC
